AsterScan (aster-scan.com) is a community-operated blockchain explorer for Aster Chain, built and maintained by Kairos Lab. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Who We Are

AsterScan is an independent, community-driven tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Aster Chain core team or AsterDEX. Kairos Lab operates AsterScan on a voluntary basis.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 — Blockchain Data

AsterScan indexes and displays publicly available on-chain data from Aster Chain (Chain ID: 1996), including transactions, blocks, addresses, validators, and contract interactions. This data is inherently public and accessible to anyone running a node. We do not add, modify, or enrich this data with personal information.

2.2 — Automatically Collected Data

When you visit AsterScan, our servers may automatically collect:

• IP address — used for rate limiting and abuse prevention only
• Browser type and operating system — for compatibility and debugging
• Pages visited and timestamps — for aggregate usage analytics
• Referral URL — to understand how users find AsterScan

We do not use third-party tracking scripts, advertising pixels, or fingerprinting techniques. We do not serve ads.

2.3 — Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not require account creation, registration, or login
• We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
• We do not use cookies for tracking purposes (functional cookies may be used for UI preferences such as theme selection)
• We do not collect or store private keys, seed phrases, or wallet credentials

3. How We Use Data

Automatically collected data is used exclusively to:

• Maintain and improve site performance and reliability
• Monitor for abuse, rate-limit violations, or DDoS attacks
• Generate aggregate, anonymized usage statistics

We never sell, share, or transfer any collected data to third parties.

4. Infrastructure Donations

AsterScan accepts voluntary donations to fund infrastructure costs. If you choose to donate:

• Donations are sent directly to a public wallet address displayed on the site
• Donations are processed entirely on-chain and are publicly verifiable
• Donations are voluntary, non-refundable, and carry no expectation of service, reward, or consideration
• We do not collect any personal information in connection with donations — only the sending wallet address is visible on-chain, as with any blockchain transaction

5. Third-Party Services

AsterScan may use third-party APIs (e.g., for price feeds or RPC access). These services are subject to their own privacy policies. We minimize external dependencies and do not share user data with these providers.

6. Data Retention

• Server logs (containing IP addresses) are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then permanently deleted
• Aggregate analytics data (without IP addresses or identifiers) may be retained indefinitely

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. However, no system is perfectly secure. AsterScan is provided as-is, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

AsterScan is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Your Rights

Since we collect minimal data and do not maintain user accounts, the most effective way to control your data is to:

• Use a VPN or Tor to mask your IP address
• Use your browser's private/incognito mode

If you believe we hold data about you and wish to request its deletion, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect upon publication on this page. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
